ITINERARY... Day 1 Bogota Resting among emerald, mist-shrouded mountains, the
cosmopolitan streets of Bogota are sure to delight. Take a walk through the colourful
laneways of the city's historic heart, La Candelaria. Boasting a wealth of cosy cafés and
colonial churches, this is a neighbourhood full of surprises. Head to the top of Montserrat
for breath-taking views and the freshest Andean air. Days 2-4 Medellin Enjoy the perfect
climate in Colombia's magical Medellin, known as the 'City of Eternal Spring'. Medellin has
experienced a rebirth in recent years, and now brims with modernist architecture and proud
locals. Museums, parks and the botanical gardens are good places to soak up the charismatic
atmosphere. Days 5-6 Santa Marta/Tayrona National Park Fly to Santa Marta before
enjoying seaside bliss away from the tourist crowds in the spectacular Tayrona National Park.
Hike through the dramatic setting of rugged mountains, verdant rainforest and jagged rocks
or swim at some of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia. Days 7-9 Cartagena Wander
around Cartagena's walled Old Town, peeking inside its candy-coloured buildings and spying
the shady courtyards hidden within. Get a bird's-eye view from the top of Castillo de San
Felipe de Barajas, or perhaps experience the therapeutic effects of a mud bath on a visit to a
bubbling volcano. The nearby group of tiny coral islands and the stunning expanse of Playa
Blanca ( White Beach) reveal the hidden beauty of Colombia's Caribbean coast.
