Muscat

I TINErAr Y... Days 1-2 muscat Start the adventure in the
attractive port city of Muscat. Use free time to admire the
arabesque architecture or simply kick back and relax at the marina.
The next day, board a boat and enjoy a fun morning of dolphin
watching. Try to spot the spinner dolphins, humpback whales and
blue whales that all frequent this scenic coastline. Days 3-4 Nizwa
Take in dramatic mountain scenery dotted with fruit plantations
and villages on the road to Nizwa. Stop and indulge in a relaxing
picnic lunch overlooking the terraced farming villages, then
continue to Nizwa - regarded by some as the heart of Oman. The
next day, enjoy walking along a scenic trail with spectacular views
of an immense canyon. Afterwards, set off on a 4x4 adventure
into the depths of the canyon to take in the view from a different
perspective. Along the way, stop for coffee and dates in a small
village and see local craftsmen at work, then return to Nizwa in
time for an evening stroll through the souq. Day 5 Desert camp
Journey into the red dunes of the desert for a night of camping in
sandy landscapes. Day 6 ras al-Hadd Travel to the coastal town
of Sur and visit a traditional working dhow yard before heading to
Ras al-Hadd. Spend an exciting evening searching out turtles that
come to the shore to lay eggs. The sight of thousands of turtles
bathed in moonlight is unforgettable. Day 7 overnight Dhow
Head further up the coast to relax in the lush oasis of Wadi Shab.
Here, there is time to tuck into a picnic lunch and take a dip in a
swimming pool. Return to Muscat and board a traditional dhow,
fitted with luxurious decor and opulent furnishings. Choose to
snorkel or take a swim in a secluded bay, then savour the serenity
while relaxing on board at night. Days 8-9 muscat Fill up on a
tasty breakfast prepared by the crew, then set sail for the return
journey to Muscat where this family adventure ends.
